Job Summary:

 

Our Oceana warehouse is the logistics center for everything that comes in from vendors, then goes out to crews working for our customers, as well as maintaining machines and fabricating many critical pieces of equipment they use.

 

As a Warehouse Technician, you will play a key role in supporting daily warehouse operations by receiving, storing, organizing, and shipping materials and equipment. This entry-level role requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to safety. You will ensure that inventory is properly handled and that the warehouse remains organized, efficient, and compliant with company policies.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in unloading and receiving shipments, verifying that items match packing lists and inspecting for quality issues.
  • Organize and store materials, ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and accessibility for future use.
  • Prepare orders for shipment, including packaging and labeling of items in accordance with company procedures. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management or related software is a plus.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by regularly updating system logs and assisting with inventory counts.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move materials (training will be provided).
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, including handling trash, debris, and general housekeeping.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment, including regular participation in safety briefings.
  • Perform routine checks on equipment and report any malfunctioning tools or machinery to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Assist with inventory audits and help to resolve discrepancies between physical stock and inventory records.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide support on special projects and additional tasks as needed by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills (experience with inventory management systems is a plus).
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management or related software is a plus.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor tasks.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperature conditions.
  • Exposure to warehouse equipment and machinery (PPE required)

The pay range for this role is $18-24 per hour, plus overtime and benefits.
